A Bright Start for Every Chipp

Kindergarten is the first step in a Chipp’s educational journey, filled with learning, growth, and discovery. This page is your go-to resource for everything you need to make the start of school a smooth and exciting experience.

Welcome to Everything Kindergarten, the starting point for your child’s exciting journey at Chippewa! This page is designed to provide families with everything they need to know about kindergarten and ensure a smooth, joyful transition into the school community.

Here, a Chipp’s love for learning begins as they explore, grow, and build the essential skills they’ll carry with them through their educational experience. Whether it’s understanding daily routines, accessing key resources, or preparing for that all-important first day, this page will guide you every step of the way.

Welcome to the Chippewa Class of 2038!

Children must be 5 years old by August 1, 2025 to register for kindergarten. Follow the steps below to complete the registration process.

STEP ONE: Complete Final Forms

  • Final Forms will open in March for incoming kindergarten students.

STEP TWO: Sign Up for Registration & Screening

  • Registration and screening will take place on April 10th (by appointment only).
  • Complete Final Forms before scheduling your appointment.

STEP THREE: Attend Screening with Your Child

Parents/guardians must bring the following:

  • Certified birth certificate
  • Social security card
  • Proof of residency (e.g., utility bill)
  • Immunization records and health paperwork
  • Completed Child’s Medical Statement form (available at Hazel Harvey)
  • Custody papers (if applicable)

Important: Only a legal parent/guardian can register a student. Bring custody documentation if your name is not on the birth certificate.

During your child’s screening, an informational meeting will be held for parents/guardians.

Kindergarten Open Enrollment

Open Enrollment for kindergarteners runs April 1 – June 30. Acceptance is not guaranteed.
