Building Innovation for the Future.

Students in Mr. Gasser’s Robotics 2 class at Chippewa Jr./Sr. High School are hard at work preparing for the upcoming National Robotics Challenge, focusing on design, programming, and innovation.

The Robotics 2 class at Chippewa Jr./Sr. High School is buzzing with excitement and activity as students dive into their semester-long preparations for the prestigious National Robotics Challenge (NRC), set to take place during the first weekend of April. Guided by Mr. Gasser, students are working tirelessly to design, build, and program robots capable of tackling four out of the 13 unique challenges presented at this year’s event.

From brainstorming initial ideas to refining their prototypes, these young innovators are immersing themselves in the full engineering process. Each step—designing, building, testing, and improving—is meticulously documented in detailed engineering notebooks. These notebooks not only serve as a record of their progress but will also be reviewed by judges at the competition, highlighting the students’ problem-solving skills and technical expertise.

A crucial part of this journey is the community support that makes it all possible. Materials for these ambitious projects have been generously provided through donations from local businesses and individuals, as well as through district-secured grants. This outpouring of support underscores the strong connection between Chippewa Jr./Sr. High School and its community, fueling student success and innovation.

As students continue refining their robots, the excitement builds. Each challenge requires creativity, perseverance, and teamwork, ensuring that these young engineers are not only preparing for the NRC but also building skills that will serve them well in future careers.

The Robotics 2 class is more than just a group of students building machines—it’s a testament to the power of dedication, collaboration, and community. Stay tuned for updates as they head to the National Robotics Challenge, ready to showcase their hard work and ingenuity.
